I'm Sr. Helena of Mary. I'm a Carmelite Sister for the Aged and Infirm. I live in Germantown, NY. with my Community. My blog is called "Salt of the Earth" because that is what Jesus asked his disciples to be. I hope I meet many friends here and witness to the beauty of our Catholic Faith and the love of God!

We must become aware that God dwells within us and do everything with Him; then we are never common-place, even when performing the most ordinary tasks; for we do not live in these things, we go beyond them! A supernatural soul never deals with secondary causes, but with God alone.

When I commit a fault that makes me sad, I know very well that this sadness is a consequence of my infidelity, but do you believe that I remain there? Oh, no! I’m not so foolish! I hasten to say to God: God, I know I have merited this feeling of sadness, but let me offer it up to you just the same as a trial that You sent me through love. I’m sorry for my sin, but I’m happy to have this suffering to offer to You.-

“The soul that is attached to anything however much good there may be in it, will not arrive at the liberty of divine union. For whether it be a strong wire rope or a slender and delicate thread that holds the bird, it matters not, if it really holds it fast; for, until the cord be broken the bird cannot fly.
